An engagement session serves as a pivotal precursor to your wedding day. It’s an essential opportunity to forge a connection with your wedding photographer and to establish trust and a bond. It gives you and idea of what it would be like to have your photographer along for your wedding day. This collaborative process not only ensures that the resulting images authentically reflect your personalities but also sets the stage for a seamless and stress-free wedding experience.
Today, I want to talk about locations. I of course have a few of my favorite spots and locations but I want my couples to choose what resonates with them the most. Whether that be at their home or where they had their first date or even where they like to hangout most now a days!
Here are some of my favorites so that you can gain some ideas or inspo….
1. John Clyde Native Grassland Preserve in Griggstown, NJ.
This location is so beautiful in the spring and summer. Surrounded by acres of lush meadows, and towering grasses, this serene sanctuary provides a picturesque setting that feels both intimate and expansive. There is something about this grassland makes you want to run around and just feel so free!
2. The Jersey Shore
In my mind, you can never go wrong with a beach day shoot! If you love the beach and want to make a little day of your engagement session – this is a great location. With the sandy shores and iconic boardwalk, is an enchanting setting for engagement sessions at the beach. Personally, I love Asbury but none of the beaches are off my list. I also am not opposed to doing any sunrises sessions!
3. Round Valley Recreational Area
Round valley is a picturesque gem offering a stunning backdrop for engagement photos. This tranquil location is embraced by lush forests and many hidden trails along the lake, creating a serene ambiance perfect for capturing timeless moments of love.
4. A location meaningful to you.
I’ve been in my couples homes or their favorite bars to have a drink. Nothing is off limits! I want your photos to feel YOU. Choosing a meaningful location for an engagement session, such your favorite bar or the park that holds significance to the couple, adds a layer of personal connection and nostalgia to the photoshoot.
